About the Limestone Coast region
This region of South Australia takes up much of the state’s south-east corner, extending from the coast to about 150km inland. It is bordered by the Murraylands and Riverland region to the north, the State of Victoria to the east, and the Southern Ocean to the west and south.
The region is home to regional centres such as Robe and Naracoorte, and also encompasses the iconic slopes of Mount Gambier. It boasts a number of remarkable natural landscapes and geographic features that are begging to be explored, including an ancient coastline, volcanoes, lakes, craters, swamps and caves.
The traditional owners of the land on which the Limestone Coast region now stands are the Ngarrindjeri and Booandik people. Six distinct language groups exist within the region.

The event is free for attendees of all ages. In addition to its culinary offerings, it features live music and plenty of activities for the kids, making it the perfect family day out.

What: Every year, over 6,000 talented jazz musicians from across Australia and New Zealand make their way to a Big Top tent in the middle of a paddock near Mount Gambier. Here, they will enjoy an exciting weekend of competition, concerts and learning experiences in front of audiences of up to 8,000. The festival offers incredible exposure for young musicians, helping them gain confidence and even offering scholarship opportunities, while visitors can also appreciate tunes from internationally renowned jazz professionals.

What: This one-night extravaganza is a hit with foodies and social butterflies from around Mount Gambier. It offers a fantastic atmosphere, with live music and a DJ in addition to plenty of local wine, beer and cider to sample. Freshly-cooked gourmet food is also on offer, showcasing some of the best summer produce the Limestone Coast region has to offer.
